FUN FOR FUNDS


An opportunity for experienced Cellists, Double bassists and Violists to be part of a casual ensemble of experienced musicians to perform in a fundraising concert for UNICEF on Saturday evening 6th June at 7:30 pm at The Avenue Uniting Church, Blackburn.
Theme: Mystery of Time (part 2)
Repertoire: Winter from the Four Seasons by Vivaldi, Bach Double for Violins and strings, Vivaldi A minor Violin Concerto, and Bach Air from Suite No. 3 in D.
Rehearsals : Sundays May 24, May 31, Saturday June 6, @ 5.30pm @ The Avenue Uniting Church, Blackburn. 44-46 Blackburn Road, on the corner of The Avenue.

Would you like to join a small instrumental ensemble of advanced string and woodwind students to present a concert in June 2026?  The proceeds will go to UNICEF. We comprise first and second violins and violas and currently need violists, cellists and double bassists to complement our string section. We also have two flutes, two clarinets, a bassoon and currently need two oboes and two horns. Repertoire includes Vivaldi’s Concerto for four solo violins and strings in B minor, Op. 3 No.10, Handel’s The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, Telemann Suite in A minor, Wagner’s Adagio by Baermann and more… Proposed rehearsal schedule is on Sunday afternoons at 5:30 pm at The Avenue Uniting Church in Blackburn 44-46 Blackburn Road, corner of The Avenue and Blackburn Road. The concert will be in June, with the date to be confirmed.
